How this UK working days calculator works
This tool counts every calendar day between your start date and end date, then removes Saturdays and Sundays. If bank holiday exclusion is enabled, it also removes the built-in 2026 and 2027 bank holidays for the selected UK region.
England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do not always share the same bank holiday calendar, so the region setting matters. This is useful when planning project timelines, invoice due dates, annual leave cover, delivery schedules or internal service-level targets.

What counts as a working day?
In this calculator, a working day is a Monday to Friday that is not excluded as a bank holiday for the selected UK region.
Does it include both the start date and end date?
Yes. The date range is inclusive. If the start or end date falls on a weekend or excluded bank holiday, that day is removed from the working-day total.
Which bank holiday years are included?
The built-in bank holiday sets cover 2026 and 2027 for England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Dates outside those years will still exclude weekends, but may not include every regional bank holiday.
